A Tourist Visa is granted to all individuals who wish to explore Mauritius on a holiday, or those attending a conference.
Passport holders of certain countries may apply for a Visa on Arrival. Click here to see the list of countries eligible for a Visa on Arrival. If your country isn’t listed, VisaMauritius may assist you in obtaining your visa.
It is possible for you to extend your trip for another 3 months once you are on the Mauritian territory.
You are prohibited from working or doing an internship in Mauritius with a Tourist Visa.
To be eligible for a Tourist Visa, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must have a copy of a valid return ticket, no later than 3 months following your date of arrival in the country.
- The duration of your stay cannot exceed 6 months.
- You must carry proof of your accommodation arrangements and all the information related to your stay in the country (including phone number and address)
- You must have evidence of sufficient funds to meet your costs throughout your stay.
*All foreign travelers entering Mauritius are required to possess a passport valid for at least 6 months following your departure date from Mauritius. We strongly recommend that you have unused visa pages, allowing for necessary stamps upon arrival and departure. We also urge you to check if you require a separate transit visa for any connections on your way to Mauritius.
